Summary: Things started off a bit rough. We had intended to get check in instructions early in the day, however there was a miscommunication and so we were left hanging around a sketchy neighborhood until 11pm at night waiting to check in. Thankfully we rented a car. Once we got there, the apartment was as it appeared in the pictures however there were a few off putting things. The area was just not clean. There were only 3 towels there for a week long stay, and one of the towels was dirty. Secondly, there were sugar ants everywhere. I found them climbing out of all the drains, next to the windowsill where we slept, and even crawling on me while I was in bed. I understand it’s Florida and there are bugs but that needs to get under control before you have guests. We had booked this place as we did not intend to spend a lot of time here, and could handle a small area, however, after a long day of wedding planning, we did expect the TV to work, which it did not. The TV did not have cable, and the three channels it did play came in static and broken up. The other thing to keep in mind, is that many of the neighbors do not appreciate the rental units next to their houses. We experienced a lot of hostility, and we saw one of the neighbors get a different renters car towed. Some of the neighbors even have signs on their yard stating that the vacation renters need to go. This definitely wasn’t an area that I found to be super safe. We ended up checking out early and staying at a hotel nearby because we really just couldn’t handle it anymore. We travel frequently and are not super picky, but this place was just very offputting.
