Keen walkers and cyclists can follow the Viking Coastal Trail, which runs along the coastline from Ramsgate to Herne Bay, taking in the pretty town of Margate (5 miles), famous for its Turner Contemporary Gallery. Alternatively, visit Broadstairs (2 miles) to discover its connections to Charles Dickens.
