Summary: This was my 1st experience with a VRBO rental and a major disappointment. The description was misleading, getting into the property was a hassle, the host was slow and unresponsive. Advertised as “Coastal Chic” a more appropriate description would be “Central CHEAP” and had all the charm of a Motel 6. I did not know an apartment could be furnished by Dollar General, but apparently it is so. The interior hallways had the feel of a tenement building with a fresh coat of paint. ArrivalEntry instructions using Cellgate app were confusing and plainly incorrect. A call to the host went to an anonymous and unanswered Gvoice number where I left a message. I finally gained access to the building lobby by sneaking in after a resident. Making it to the door of the apartment, which allowed entry by the use of more convoluted instructions. Greeting us at the door was an Eviction Notice from the owner of the building demanding immediate payment or to vacate the premises. The host never responded when advised of notice and I was left to wonder if we would have to find another place to stay.The description in VRBO stated that this place “Sleeps 6”. This is a lie. The convertible couch is not suitable for an adult to sleep on. The place sleeps 2 adults if they were to share a bed and the couch is for a child. As far as bedding for the stained couch, 1 sheet, a comforter and 2 pillowcases were provided. No sleeping pillows. No 2nd sheet.The shower.No hot and cold water for entire stay
