This colorful house in the middle of Santa Barbara is extremely clean, very cozy, and has a beautiful, spacious and fenced-in brick patio. Three bay windows provide a great view of the patio and let in plenty of natural light.

The space

Our space is very cute. It's set back from the street, and closed in by a wall and a gate, so it feels fairly private; there won't be lots of drive-by traffic or random pedestrians passing by. It is a multi-family residence located in the hotel district. We have neighbors on all sides, so please try to respect that it gets relatively quiet in the evenings.

The house is one story, so there aren't any stairs to grapple with. There is a single step onto the patio from the gate, and another at each entrance. The master bedroom has a private bathroom, and it's own private entrance.

The nearly constant summer weather is great for enjoying the patio space. Even as the weather cools in the winter months, you can light a fire in the outdoor firepit to enjoy the space year-round.

There's also an indoor fireplace. When it's cold out, I love lighting a fire and playing old jazz records on the record player.

We keep a few personal belongings here, but they're limited to a couple closets.

Guest access

Guests will have access to our entire house, exclusive use of the patio, and one space in the car port. There are three bedrooms. The master has a king bed, its own bathroom, and a private entrance. The other bedrooms, which have a full and a twin bed in each, share a bathroom.

The bay windows let in lots of natural light. I have a mixture of white lightbulbs and colored lightbulbs in the house, which helps cultivate a fun party vibe.

For our musically-inclined guests, we have a small keyboard and an acoustic guitar. There's also a record player with a small collection of classic vinyl, and a bookshelf filled with classic literature.

The living room, and each bedroom has a television in it. We don't have cable, but each comes with an Amazon FireStick on it. Between Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, HBO, News & TV station apps most people can find something to watch. I can order cable for anyone who stays for more than two months, but I will be sending an invoice the cost. There's also an HDMI cord plugged into the living room TV.

I provide beach & bath towels, and there's usually plenty of sunscreen around in case you've forgotten your own.

There's a large dining room table inside and a "peninsula" separating the kitchen and dining space.

Outside, there's plenty of comfortable seating. There are four cushioned lounge style chairs, a small two-seater table, and a larger glass table. We also have a dartboard set up for guests.

Interaction with guests

I like to personally greet guests upon arrival. After that, I will be available by phone or the site to answer any last minute questions you might have.

Our check-out time is usually flexible. Please inquire if you'd like to stay later than 1PM.

Other things to note

The house is part of a multi-family complex. It is completely separated from the other portion by a wall, a gate and a patio that you'll have exclusive access too. The carport is shared with the two other units on the property and individual spots are assigned. There is also a parking spot in the alley behind the house.

The patio is technically shared with the property manager's studio but he doesn't use the patio except to walk in and out of his unit..
