Summary: As advertised the house was well-located, close to everything and well laid out. The house was well-appointed and as represented by the photos. There were additional items such as bikes (not all in working condition), beach chairs in the garage for use and a grill out back. The manager responded by text messaging right away to questions and issues. However, there were some concerns. The major issue was that although we were paying to rent the house for 2 months as “our residence” the manager refused to honor our request to please wear a mask. The refrigerator was not working properly so a repair person and the manager came to assess. At our request the appliance repairman donned a mask. However, when we requested the same of the manager, he became red in the face and raised his voice angrily responding with “This is MY HOUSE and we follow MY RULES”, “As a matter of fact I think if you don’t like it you should wait outside!” “I’m sick and tired of people telling me what to do, I’m sick of it!”. During this outburst, the repairman focused on inspecting the broken refrigerator and continued to wear his mask. The refridgerator could not be repaired without parts, so a second refridgerator was placed in the garage which is what we used for our remaining 6 weeks. We accompanied the repairman as he exited the house and thanked him for being respectful to which he responded “of course”. Needless to say, we avoided any further verbal interactions with the manager in order to evade any hostile reponses. Other issues: The Wifi is slow and has very low security (use a personal VPN to protect yourself). There are basic kitchen items lacking –wine glasses, a ladle, not enough small water glasses, coffee mugs (the house can sleep 8 but has only 4 coffee mugs- but we purchased and left 4 more). In addition, some glasses and mugs are chipped at the lip and not usable. There are just 3 beach towels, no hooks or towel bars in the master bath, and the dining table sits just 4 persons – the rest have to sit at the kitchen counter. The carpets are stained and dirty, and the furniture is shabby and showing wear and tear.
