Please note: Dunnellon is located in the north-central part of Florida, a region where occasional cold fronts during the winter months can bring nighttime temperatures as low as 30°F. While the pool is heated from November to March, we want to clarify that on very cold days, when temperatures drop below 45°F, the heat pump automatically switches to a freeze protection mode.
This safety feature is designed to prevent damage to the system’s components by heating itself rather than the pool water. Unfortunately, this means that the water temperature may drop significantly during these times and might not rise noticeably, even with the heat pump running all day.
